ELECTRIC POWER STEERING

This teaching kit enables the study of electric power steering (EPS) from both an electronic and a mechanical perspective.
Benefits of studying EPS:
• EPS is highly representative of on-board electronic systems, with interesting and highly topical features: eddy-current sensors, an electric motor controlled by a chopper, and a CAN bus.
• This system also enables the study of commonly used mechanical systems: motion conversion using a wheel-and-worm gear mechanism and a rack-and-pinion mechanism.

The product includes:
• A mechanical assembly comprising:
◦◦ The subframe of a PSA vehicle, including the lower wishbone and the left-hand pivot.
◦◦ The steering rack, fitted with an electric motor equipped with a current sensor.
• A vehicle control panel comprising:
◦◦ +APC and start button,
◦◦ operational indicator lights,
◦◦ OBD2 diagnostic socket.
• EPS control unit with a Y-splitter harness and a CAN bus fault simulation box.
• 12V battery with a smart charger integrated into the lower section.
